How to Get Pen Pressure to Work Again
- This to a higher place window should pop upward. Under All User Preferences click Remove .
Your pen sensitivity should work once again! It e'er has for me. But problem, all your preferences are gone! In other words, that means all the changes you made in theWacom Tablet Backdrop are gone. This specially sucks for some people with very specific settings, such every bit myself, where I utilise dual monitors but only want my tablet to work in a single monitor. I accept good news and bad news.
Adept news, even though you had to remove your preferences, you tin can put them back. Y'all can go back to Wacom Tablet Properties and set up all your changes back manually and your pen sensitivity should be fine for a while.
Bad news, pen sensitivity later a while might drop again, and you'll have to remove your settings one time once again. This gets tedious and annoying peculiarly for those who make a lot of changes. But I have another solution.
- Notice how in theWacom Tablet Preference File Utility , under My Preferences , at that place is a choice that says " Backup... "? Utilize that one time you have removed and then put dorsum all your preferences in the.Wacom Tablet Properties window! It volition back upwardly all your preferences in i small file.
- Save that file somewhere on your computer (somewhere where you'll remember information technology).
- When you're forced to remove your preferences once again, get back to the Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility window, click restore, and and then locate and double-click on the support file. All your settings will be restored AND pen sensitivity will continue to work.
This is a flake abrasive but I found it'due south very fast and efficient compared to the alternate. Also bear in mind, sometimes your dorsum up won't piece of work. It sucks a lot, but when I upgraded and changed my pocket-sized tablet to my medium, SAI didn't piece of work my pen force per unit area and my support didn't help information technology. I removed my settings and restored them, but the backup kept leading the pen pressure to stop working in SAI, so I was forced to redo them manually and support once over again.
This was only in one case and that'due south when I changed tablets though, so I don't know if it's a recurring problem or not, but I'm personally not too worried.
This method has always solved my personal pen pressure settings. Nothing else has stock-still my trouble like this has.
five. Plug and Unplug with you sheet open
This method hasn't personally worked for me , merely it has for Didule (thanks!)
Unplug yous tablet, open SAI, then open a new sheet (or the canvas/drawing you lot're currently working on), and so plug your tablet back in.
Hasn't worked for me, only it worked for someone!
half dozen. Your "Misc" settings in SAI
This method has actually worked for me (No.iv was my holy grail go to, but this worked for me yay!) and RonTheWolf was kind plenty to share information technology with me! (Thanks!)
So first, detect your source binder for SAI (when you downloaded SAI, you had a folder, right? Go find it and open it!)
Now, find a file that says misc . (yous're going to accept to practise open that file and do some changes, then if messing with things makes yous nervous, experience free to make a copy of it before any changes were made and put it somewhere condom)
Immediately upon opening information technology, information technology should look something like this:
Now most the very bottom it says "TabletMouseSimulation = 1"
And it SHOULD say that! If it says 0, then change it to i !
7. Previous Drivers that were Uninstalled, but not Eradicated from your Computer
(Thanks then much kartos !!)
This isn't a trouble I ran into, but for a specific reason, and I'll explain why at the finish.
So basically (this applies to nearly all programs btw) even when you uninstall something, it tin leave backside pesky files that are subconscious beneath layer and layer of folders. Most of the time, these files don't cause many issues, just sometimes, they exercise. This tin can happen when you uninstall a wacom driver, and wow it'south abrasive.
So to become rid of these files...
1. Uninstall your electric current Wacom driver (a reboot isn't all that necessary, just do it if you need to).
two. Make sure SAI and other cartoon programs are airtight.
3. Open up upward your Crive
4. Open up upwardly Program Files, and find any folders that say "Wacom" or "Tablet" (but if you have a tablet figurer, make sure these folders are not related to that!!) and delete all of it!
5. Reinstall your wacom driver
6. Reboot entire computer
7. Open SAI and test if your pen pressure works!
The reason why I've never dealt with this is because I utilise an un-installation programme called "REVO Uninstaller" and I accept the option to do a deep thorough cleaning of all related files when I uninstall something, so I don't have balance files. This is handy when you accidentally install a program that brings all sorts of shit into your computer (toolbars, popups, irresolute your search engine to bing or whatever) and it just removes everything related. It's keen! Only I understand people don't desire to install a program to uninstall things, so just do the above make clean now and then, and yous'll be fine!
8. Restarting Wacom Professional Services
This method was provided by Yumiandava (Thank you so much!!)
ane. Click on Start (or press the windows key on your keyboard)
ii. Search for "Services" and then click on it (it should just say Services). A window should pop up with a list of services.
3. Scroll through the list until your find i that says "Wacom Professional Services"
4. Click on information technology, and then to the left, there should be ii options to either Terminate or RESTART the service. Y'all can click either other, but if you finish the service, make certain to recall to start it upwards again!
And that should do it!
ix. Possibly Paint Tool SAI just doesn't like you
Okay, no, but seriously, if you have a pirated/unpaid for copy of SAI, it's possible that karma is biting you back in the butt, illegal versions of programs never guarantee proper role and won't always properly work. It is e'er best to really buy a re-create so that if something doesn't work, you can go to their official website to report issues and/or ask for their help at their Information Desk. And then mayhap its a proficient idea to go to their site and buy their Software License.
~*~
If you're still experiencing issues then my greatest apologies Mayhap youtube will be able to help you or another user. Unfortunately due to my decreased corporeality of time since starting university I won't be responding to comments anymore. I'yard really sorry about that. If I see/detect a new solution and so I'll endeavour and add it, and if you lot'd like to add together one, feel free to PM me. Information technology may accept a while, merely I'll probably become around to information technology.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I really do wish anybody the best of luck, and I hope that all your pen pressure issues are solved. Proficient luck, and happy drawing!
