Allen Perkins

R. Allen Perkins, MD

Professor, Section Chair

Dr. Perkins was our Programme Director from summertime 1999 to summer of 2010 and he has served as the section chair since 2005. His clinical practice incorporates the total spectrum of Family Medicine. He teaches several of the procedural components within our Family Medicine Department including obstetrical ultrasound. His academic interests are focused on improving intendance commitment to underserved populations and care of patients with chronic diseases.

Dr. Perkins enjoys scuba diving, running, and spending time at the embankment with his family.

Ehab Molokhia

Ehab Molokhia, MD

Vice Chair and Programme Director

Dr. Molokhia joined our faculty later on completing his residency with United states Family Medicine. Dr. Molokhia's hometown is Ann Arbor, MI. He did all of his undergraduate work, as well as earned his medical degree, from the University of Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt. He is Vice Chair of the Section of Family unit Medicine, and is likewise the Residency Director. Dr. Molokhia and his wife, Doaa, are the proud parents of three children- a son and ii daughters.

Marirose Trimmier, Md

Associate Professor, Clerkship Director

Marirose C. Trimmier, MD is a graduate of the Academy of Southward Alabama Medical Schoolhouse and Residency Program.  After completely residency in 2001, she moved to Georgia for 3 years before moving dorsum to her home state of Alabama.  After several years in private practice she has recently returned to the University of South Alabama as Banana Professor.

Dr. Trimmier enjoys reading, dancing and cycling.

Rebecca Sollie, MD

Assistant Professor, Banana Plan Director

Dr. Sollie is a 2015 graduate of the University of Alabama, School of Medicine, Birmingham, AL and completed her residency in 2018 at the University of South Alabama Residency Program.  Dr. Sollie joined our faculty as an assistant professor following the completion of her residency.  She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family unit Physicians and Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.  She has a strong interest in family, maternal, and kid care beginning earlier formulation.


Jenna Pfleeger, Doc

Assistant Professor, Assistant Clerkship Director

Dr. Pfleeger earned her medical degree at University of Due south Alabama Higher of Medicine. She completed residency at University of South Alabama Family unit Medicine where she also served equally main resident during her last year at which time she also completed a fellowship in Faculty Evolution at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Pfleeger joined our kinesthesia as assistant professor and has a strong interest in undergraduate medical instruction and serves as banana clerkship director to our medical students.
Dr. Pfleeger is dedicated to serving all members of the customs and is listed under Rainbow Mobile as an affirming provider. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Society of Teachers of Family unit Medicine. Dr. Pfleeger enjoys fishing, hiking, and sailing with her son and fiancé.

Ann Payne-Johnson, MD

Assistant Professor

Ann Payne-Johnson received Bachelor of Scientific discipline in Psychology and a Principal of Science in Matrimony and Family unit Therapy from the University of Southern Mississippi. She graduated from Spartan Health Sciences University School of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Payne-Johnson holds dual board certifications in Family unit Medicine and Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Payne-Johnson has a long history in Fitness, Nutrition and Exercise. She enjoys seeing patients in infancy, childhood, adolescence, and throughout the adult life bridge. She has interests in Wellness Care, Preventative Medicine, Women's Wellness, and Weight Management.

Dr. Payne-Johnson, a New Orleans native, is a die-hard Saints fan. She loves all types of gadgets and is an early adopter of most forms of technology. She enjoys traveling, working out, beach fourth dimension, and reading.

Maureen Padden, Dr.

Professor and Medical Managing director

Dr Padden received her BA in Molecular Biological science from Univ. of California San Diego and her Dr. from Uniformed Services University School of Medicine.  She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Naval Hospital Campsite Pendleton in California and is lath certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine.  She completed her Fellowship in Kinesthesia Development at Madigan Army Medical Center and holds a Main of Public Health from University of Washington.  She is as well a designated Naval Flight Surgeon.

Dr Padden hails from Maryland but has lived all over having served in the Navy for 30 years. She has been engaged in graduate medical education for over 20 years and previously served as Program Director at Naval Hospital Campsite Lejeune and Commander of Naval Infirmary Pensacola FL.  Upon retirement from the Navy in 2017 Dr Padden returned to the Gulf Coast and enjoyed a busy community practice before joining The states.

Dr Padden'due south interests include chronic disease management, diabetes, diet and weight management.  She enjoys running, traveling, gardening, raising backyard chickens and has remained agile in national and state medical societies' advancement efforts.  She is married with three children and three dogs.

Dr. Padden was recently nominated and selected by the Board of AAFP to serve on the Committee of Federal and State Policy.

Peter Rippey

Peter Rippey, MD

Sports Medicine Fellowship Director

Dr. Rippey is originally from Missouri and started out his medical career as an Occupational Therapist before returning to obtain a medical degree from the University of Missouri.  He completed his family medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship training at Halifax Wellness in Daytona Beach, FL.  He has feel practicing in multiple settings including private do, hospital based practice and emergency medicine.  He has worked with both apprentice and professional athletes and served as team medico for collegiate and loftier school athletics every bit well as covering community sporting events.
He has passion for treating the athlete as a whole instead of focusing only on the immediate injury.  Injuries involve non just the athlete's musculus or joint simply can affect their mental wellness, exist caused by training errors, and even result from problems with nutrition.   All these problems need to be considered and addressed when caring for athletes and achieving the ultimate goal - injury prevention!
Dr. Rippey is married with two children.  He enjoys running, weight lifting, paddle boarding, and hiking.  His older daughter participates in equestrian activities and he and his younger daughter practise the family tradition of beekeeping.

Kevin Astle, PharmD

Offshoot Assistant Professor of Pharmacy

Dr. Astle is originally from Dunedin, FL and earned his PharmD degree from the University of Florida in 2016. Following graduation, he completed a PGY-1 convalescent care pharmacy residency with Auburn University Pharmacy Health Services in 2017. He has been with Auburn Academy Harrison Schoolhouse of Pharmacy since 2017 serving in various roles including the Skills Lab Coordinator for the second year of the PharmD curriculum. Dr. Astle'due south research interests include the direction of chronic illness states, management and prevention of HIV infection, and LGBTQ+ healthcare services

Sean Smithgall, PharmD

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy

Dr. Smithgall graduated from E Tennessee State University, Bill Gatton College of Chemist's shop in 2014 with his PharmD degree.  He completed a PGY1 in Pharmacotherapy at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.  He then return to ETSU in order to complete a PGY2 in Ambulatory Intendance with a focus in transitions of intendance.  Later the completion of his PGY2, he accustomed a position with Auburn Academy, Harrison Schoolhouse of Chemist's shop as an Banana Clinical Professor.  His do site is a hybrid inpatient, outpatient model with the University of Southward Alabama Family unit Medicine Section where he primarily focuses on improving transitions of care.  Other interests of Dr. Smithgall include inquiry into personality traits and characteristics of success of learners in dissimilar wellness care professions.
