The story begins strong with a murder at a bookstore, poetry analysis, and a smart chief character who lives on popcorn, vino, and chocolate. When Sam is chosen to the scene of a murder, she finds a piece of paper in the victim'southward oral cavity with iii lines of poetry on information technology. What follows is an engaging cat and mouse game that had me turning the pages rapidly. We also get to hear from the killer in a few short chapters scattered through the volume and nosotros learn that he has a god complex and an obsession with poetry, specifically T.S. Eliot …

This one is definitely focused on the police procedural side of things and how detectives solve cases and is less of a thriller than you lot might be expecting from the embrace. I am looking forward to the next book in the serial and reading more of Lisa'south backlist.
